A major refurbishment project is underway at the Tower Centre in Ballymena. The shopping centre, which houses over 50 stores, is investing £1million to rejuvenate the mall area.
The project involves the retiling of the mall floor and columns at the shop fronts as well as redecoration, additional lighting and the provision of new mall furniture. The work being carried out within the centre began at the end of June and is due to be completed by October 2009.
Centre Manager of the Tower Centre, Colette Lyness, said, “This is a considerable investment for the Tower Centre and one which we believe will enhance the overall shopping experience for customers. The refurbishment has been welcomed by existing retailers and shoppers to the centre. We are pleased to be in a position to invest in the centre for the benefit of our retailers and customers. Already the proposals have attracted new retailers into the Tower Centre with B&M Bargains recently opening in the former Woolworths unit.
“The £1m investment is not only significant for the Tower Centre but, we believe, is important for the town of Ballymena. Ballymena has long been considered one of the Northern Ireland’s best shopping towns and the Tower Centre lies at the very heart of Ballymena town”, said Colette Lyness.
Tower Centre features many leading names in retail including Dunnes, New Look, Primark, Boots and River Island. Well-know value retailer B&M Bargains recently opened in the former Woolworths unit.
